The future of home defense has arrived! The IWI TS12 Tavor Bullpup 12 Gauge Shotgun would look right at home in any action packed SciFi film. But it’s not just a striking design, it’s an amazingly practical tactical shotgun.
The innovative bullpup design makes the overall length quite small, and leads to an exceptionally maneuverable weapon. While an empirically heavy weapon, the bullpup design puts the center of gravity further back. This puts less weight on your extended support arm making the weapon feel lighter than it is. It’s perfect for home defense, moving through doorways, hallways, and other tight spaces where a longer weapon would be a liability.
The semi-automatic action not only allows for faster follow-up shots, and less complexity of action for the shooter, but also serves to absorb much of the 12 gauge recoil. It has FAR less recoil than a pump action or break action 12 gauge. This makes it more controllable, more accurate, and easier for smaller people to use. It also makes it much more pleasant to train with.
The unique magazine design is built around three 5-round magazine tubes in a rotating triangular assembly under the barrel which serves as the support hand grip. Each tube holds five 2.75″ shells (or four 3″ shells), for a total of fifteen full sized 12 gauge shotgun shells in the magazine. With one round in the chamber, you have a staggering sixteen 12 gauge rounds available!
When one magazine tube runs empty, the bolt locks back, and the shooter just needs to move their trigger finger forward depressing the magazine tube release button, then rotate the triangular tube assembly which they are already gripping with their support hand. Once a new tube is rotated into position it will automatically feed a round into the chamber and drop the bolt forwards, ready to fire. With a little practice this becomes quick and second nature, allowing anyone to easily shoot all sixteen rounds in under 10 seconds.
You can also run different ammunition in different tubes, such as slugs, buckshot, or breaching rounds. The design also allows for quick and easy ejection and insertion of a shell into either non-active magazine tubes. You can reload, or top up, depleted magazine tubes while having a round in the chamber and a full magazine tube ready to feed, making it easy to stay fully loaded without ever having an inoperable weapon.
The TS12 can easily be configured for right or left-handed shooters, and is a truly ambidextrous weapon. It can be shot with confidence by all sizes and weights of shooters, and packs a stunning amount of firepower into an extremely maneuverable package.
We recommend adding a SureFire X400 light/laser combination for rapid target identification and acquisition in a home defense scenario. A RMR red dot optic is also a great accessory allowing for easier target acquisition in daylight or at the range, and for when you want to impress by ringing steel at 100 yards with a slug.
